| Trust boundary | Point where assumptions or authority change during an interaction. |
| Asset | Resource or value being protected. |
| Threat model | Contextual account of actors, possible harm and proposed controls. |
| Point of effect | Point where an operation occurs or information is disclosed. |
| Revocation | Withdrawal of authority with defined conditions and effective time. |
| Compensation | Subsequent action addressing a completed effect; not necessarily its reversal. |
| Residual risk | Risk remaining after the described controls. |
